Remember being a little kid playing your mom’s makeup? I do. I remember my mother even doing my makeup for me and sending me out to play in bright red lipstick and blue eye shadow to my eyebrows. Yes, I was an 80’s kid! Well, I didn’t really take to makeup then but I now I am getting into makeup a little more. I am on the search for a few products to enhance my features. Today I am reviewing Rimmel’s Hide the Blemish Concealer and Covergirl’s Bombshell Volume LashBlast Mascara.
Rimmel’s Hide the Blemish Concealer
Right now my makeup routine includes lipstick and occasionally compact powder. I thought adding a concealer to hide those undereye circles would be a nice and simple touch. I am looking for something light and not overly greasy.
Rimmel’s Hide the Blemish Concealer was easy to apply. I applied it under my eyes and on my eyes. I think my eyes get so dark because of my hypothyroidism.
Well, my pictures look a bit funny but I think the concealer helped a little bit. I probably could have blended it in a little bit more with the powder, but putting on makeup is very new to me, I will probably get better with time. A beauty blogger, I am not!
Covergirl’s Bombshell Volume LashBlast Mascara
I must look funny shopping in the makeup section of the store. I am looking over everything, reading labels, and trying to decide what colors would look right on me. Mascara has to have two things in order for me to want to purchase it: lash plumping ability and it has to be waterproof. I sweat too much here in Florida for a mascara to not be waterproof.
I found the Covergirl Bombshell Volume LashBlast Mascara in the clearance section of the makeup department. I think I paid just $4.50 for it.
The Covergirl Bombshell Volume LashBlast Mascara is a two step mascara. The first step is supposed to give volume. The second step seals with a dark finish. The mascara was easy to apply. I haven’t worn mascara in ages. I remember the person who did my makeup for my wedding telling me to use mascara for a couple weeks leading up to my wedding so my lashes could get fuller. I guess I need to add mascara to my daily routine because my lashes are scarce. The ones I do have did get some more volume though.
I only applied to my top eyelashes. Compared to pictures above you can tell I have eyelashes now, lol. I guess that is a start.
Overall, I am pleased with both products. I will probably continue to search a lighter concealer as it felt a bit heavy and took awhile for my to fully blend in.
